andEuropean markets were cautious as
global investors await the results of the U.S. midterm elections.
Asia-Pacific stocks were
mixed as investors digested news that China’s
annualized producer prices fell for the first time in October since
December 2020.
Oil priced slightly
lower.
Gold prices rose, boosted
by a fall in the dollar.
In corporate news, food and clothing retailer Marks & Spencer said
it expected to deliver annual results “similar” to expectations as interim
pre-tax profits rose 11.3%.
Clothing and homewares sales rose 14% in the six months to October 1, while
food revenue was up 5.6%.
