30 April 2019

Island stockbroker Ramsey Crookall are to sponsor Finch Hill Cricket Club for another season.

The firm says it's as a result of a 'very successful first year of sponsorship for one of the Island's oldest cricket clubs'.

Douglas-based Finch Hill lifted the Forrester Cup in the 2018 campaign after winning nine matches from nine.

They began the new season with defeat in the Tinker Cup quarter-finals against Crosby on Saturday.

Of the sponsorship deal, club chairman Peter Luft said: "The support of Ramsey Crookall made a significant difference to the progress made last year and I am delighted that they have decided to continue with this sponsorship.

"We are a family club and place great emphasis on encouraging young boys and girls to take up the game of cricket.

"We are proud of the fact many of our youngsters have improved to such an extent that they now regularly play senior cricket.

"This funding, from one of the Island's most respected firms, will enable us to continue with the development of all of our players and help Finch Hill regain our rightful place as one of the leading clubs on the Island and a major force in Manx cricket."

Joanna Crookall from Ramsey Crookall added the company are "very pleased with the results of our sponsorship and we congratulate Finch Hill on winnin the Forrester competition with a team comprising mainly of youngsters.

"We look forward to extending our mutually beneficial relationship and we wish the club continued success."
