and European markets opened slightly higher, tracking global counterparts as sentiment
rebounded following a rocky week.
Shares in Asia-Pacific
roseas investors monitored Hong Kong-listed stocks of firms in
regulation-hit sectors such as video games.
Oil priced higher
after dipping overnight as China announced it would release oil from their
Gold priced higher.
In corporate news, Cineworldsaid it would pay $170m of a judgement to dissenting
shareholders of Regal Entertainment Group after the company’s takeover of the
movie theatre chain in 2018.
