and European stocks opened lower as investors in the region watch for announcements from the European
Oil prices rose
overnight as a decline in U.S. Gulf of Mexico output following damages from
Hurricane Ida underpinned the market.
Gold priced higher.

Holdingssaid it had won the race to buy the non-US
international business of William Hill from Caesars Entertainment for £2.2bn.
that it would raise £1.2bn from shareholders in a rights issue to strengthen
its balance sheet after turning down a preliminary takeover approach.
