and European stocks closed higher, recovering from a sharp sell-off in the previous session on fears of a
U.S. stocks rallied with
Wall Street recouping much of the previous session's steep losses.
Oil edged upabove $69 a barrel as a tight physical market offset some of the COVID-19 and
OPEC+ supply concerns behind the previous session’s slide.
Gold prices climbedas
a dip in U.S. Treasury yields boosted the safe-haven metal’s appeal.
In corporate news, Housebuilders Berkeleyand Persimmonwere among the top performers.
weaker, having gained a day earlier, probably on expectations that people might
eat out less if Covid cases continue to rise.
