U.S. stocksdipped as
investors digested a host of mixed corporate earnings result.
Oil prices fellextending
losses as investors braced for increased supplies.
Gold marginally fell,
weighed down by a slight uptick in the dollar.
In corporate news, BPand Shellgushed lower
as oil prices fell amid expectations of more supply after a truce between Saudi
Arabia and the UAE.
Going the other way, cybersecurity firm Avastsurged to the top of the index
after confirming it was in advanced talks over a merger with NortonLifeLock.
