UK & European markets were higher after U.S. Federal
Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said smaller interest rate hikes could begin in
December.
Markets in the
Asia-Pacific traded higher, carrying on the optimism behind
Wall Street’s rally.
Oil prices nosed ahead in
early Asian trade, lifted by signs of tighter supply.
Gold priced higher.
In corporate news, components maker Essentra said
it had bought Wixroyd
Group, a UK supplier of industrial parts for the engineering
sector, for an initial £29.5m with a further £7m potentially payable on a
deferred earn-out basis.
