higher as investors move on from the tensions over U.S. House
Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s controversial visit to Taiwan.
Oil prices rose,
bouncing off multi-month lows in the previous session caused by data signalling
weak U.S. fuel demand.
Gold priced higher.
In corporate news, Ferrexpo lost
1.96% after the miner reported a 31% decline in first-half revenues to $936m,
as a result of lower production and tighter market conditions.
