Dean Whitty has been promoted to Senior Investment Manager at Ramsey Crookall & Co after being awarded Most Promising Newcomer at the 2018 City of London Wealth Management Awards.
Dean, who has worked at Ramsey Crookall since 2015, was selected for the prestigious accolade by a panel of independent expert judges and was presented with the award at a glittering gala ceremony in London’s Guildhall, attended by some 300 people and hosted by TV presenter Lisa Snowdon.
The City of London Wealth Management Awards are highly valued within the industry and recognise, promote and celebrate quality of service from wealth management companies and individuals across the UK.
Speaking after the event, Dean said “Just receiving a nomination for this prestigious national award was amazing.” He also said. “It was a great honour to attend the awards event, where there were so many well-known names from the wealth management industry.
“At no point did I think I would actually win so when they announced my name on the evening, I was absolutely delighted.
“I have to thank Ramsey Crookall who have helped me enormously with my professional development. Also a big thank should also go to Goodacre UK for putting on such a well organised and wonderful event at the Guildhall in London.”
Stuart Cowan, Senior Investment Director at Ramsey Crookall, said Dean was well-deserving of the recognition. “As a fully qualified investment manager within Ramsey Crookall’s investment team, Dean has put his extensive skill set to good use and has built a significant client base which continues to grow, making him an important contributor to the growth in assets under management that we have experienced during his three years with the company.
“He has also been instrumental in the introduction and development of our investment management system and has contributed towards a major client portfolio suitability review.
“In his relatively short time with Ramsey Crookall, Dean has demonstrated his ongoing commitment to increasing his qualifications as well as his ability to enhance our service delivery to clients”.
Joanna Crookall, CEO at Ramsey Crookall, added: “We are delighted that Dean’s talent has been recognised by the City of London Wealth Management Awards and, in recognition of the contribution he is making, I am pleased to confirm his promotion to Senior Investment Manager. Dean will play an increasingly important role in building successful new client relationships over the coming years.”
Ramsey Crookall is no stranger to the City of London Wealth Management Awards and has picked up a number of impressive accolades over the years. Stuart Cowan was awarded Wealth Manager of the Year in 2012, Michael Deering won Best Compliance Professional in 2015 and Perry Downward received the Mudlark Award for Exceptional Performance in the Back Office in 2015.
