Technology Advances at Ramsey Crookall with the Key Appointment of David Stroulger
Ramsey Crookall is delighted to announce the appointment of David Stroulger as Fixed Income Strategist.
After leaving retail banking in 1986, David joined the London stockbroker de Zoete & Bevan just as ‘Big Bang’ was revolutionising the City and BZW (now Barclays Capital) formed. He followed a traditional career path through various back office departments before progressing to the front office to provide advice on bonds to the world wide Barclays branch network. When BZW’s Eurobond department expanded rapidly in the mid-90s, he moved to cover the major Swiss retail banks and met his wife via the Bloomberg emailing system!
During these years, the first generation of IBM PC started to appear, and he was able to indulge in his hobby of computing to improve both internal systems efficiency and client services. These skills came to the fore after his move to Financial & General in 1998, when they discovered they had one of the few systems that would fall prey to the Millennium bug. After implementing a new settlement system, he continued to maintain and enhance the computer network, as well as trading and assisting customers with their bond needs.
After the main shareholders and senior staff decided to retire and close Financial & General, he was invited to make the move to Isle of Man and join Ramsey Crookall. Having been a regular visitor to the island for 40 years, it was an opportunity he could not resist.
Ramsey Crookall’s CEO, Joanna Crookall, commented “ We are delighted to welcome David to the Ramsey Crookall family. We have known David professionally for many years and have always been impressed with his technical knowledge and level of customer service. David’s expertise is already being put to good use and is of great benefit to the firm”.
